0027 - Virtual Farm Visit: Midwestern Beef
In this course you will visit Twin Valley Beef Farm and complete a risk assessment and management plan. You will have the opportunity to examine the physical environment and listen to what the producer has to say about his practices. Under resources to your right we provide you with some reference material for you to read and forms that you should print out, if you haven't done so already. The producer completed some preliminary forms about his goals that you need to consider in preparing the management plan. You definitely need to read them and you might want to print them out for later references. (You will be referred to these resources in the farm visit.) You will need to print out the Risk Assessment and Management Plan (RAMP) form and complete it while you explore the farm and listen to everything. At the end you will be asked to transfer your scores to an online form and print it. The virtual farm visit is rich in pictures, audio clips, and navigation. Therefore, it takes a while to download (obviously longer if you are working over a modem). However, downloading the whole thing at once will assure that your visit goes well. So start the download and go get a cup of coffee. We won’t start without you! Now, start your tour by clicking on the "Begin Visit" link on the right.
