The scope of the U.S. Johne’s disease control program and it’s relationship to individual state programs is outlined with emphasis on the importance of veterinary practitioners to its implementation. The process of risk assessment, management and communication are described in general terms.Veterinary practitioners will:
  1. Be familiar with the contents of the Program Standards document,
  2. Be able to describe in general terms the various facets of the U.S. Johne's disease control program, and
  3. Understand the risk assessment, management and communication process as it relates to control of Johne's disease on farms.
