About the Course.......
Join us for one of the SVM’s most popular
continuing education conferences... The 19th Annual Feline Conference.
This day-long conference will concentrate on feline nutrition. At the
completion of this program, the participant should develop a clear
understanding of the importance of nutrition management and key
nutrients of concern for common feline disorders ( i.e. adverse food
reactions, calcium oxa-late urolithiasis, diabetes mellitus, obesity
and hepatic lipidosis).
The
participant should be able to select appropriate commercial diets,
calculate caloric needs, and defi ne nutritional risk factors for these
select disorders. In addi-tion, a review of critical care nutrition
will include the importance of early manage-ment of hypermetabolism and
the indications for use of various feeding tubes and critical care
diets.
